One Sunny Day In 2009

One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Ave, where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the US Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.”

The old man said, “Okay” and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine again told the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.”

The man thanked him and, again just walked away

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same US Marine, saying “I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.”

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I’ve told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don’t you understand?”

The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you tomorrow, Sir.”

  4. It doesn't mention that the man is a terrorist and that's why he's glad Bush is gone....Maybe that's because most Bush haters don't believe in terrorists!!

  5. I'm a liberal and I believe in terrorists...... I could see some terrorists techniques in the way McCain/Palin talked. A terrorist builds fear and controls through fear.

  6. We do believe in terrorists Russell. One has been president of the US for 8 years

  7. Bushes are good for two things, hiding things and doing it in, Mr Bush gave us both.

  8. Sad I must say, while sure I was a supporter of bush, and not necessarily supporting Obama enough to vote for him. I don't bash him at every opportunity. Not only is the person who created this pathetic, and showing how immature and blatantly stupid (only because if you really did know enough about politics to fairly vote you should have at least some agreement with both sides), but so are the people who agree with this or find it funny.

  9. Dude. Its a JOKE. Doesn;t mean that if you have a deep and full idea of the political system from both sides that you can;t laugh at it.
Sounds a bit like you have spat your dummy and thrown your toys out of the pram.

    a) You need to learn to take jokes less seriously.
    b) I think you mean you need to have some UNDERSTANDING of both sides in order to vote fairly. Agreement is optional.

    That is all.

Oh, no... we believe in terrorists. Mr. Bush has created several generations worth of them.

  17. Ya Terrorists are happy but so is the whole country he invaded.

Do you think iraq has anything to do with the 9/11 terrorists?

69% of americans do and it is not true. The only reason for attacking iraq is the fact that he had weapons of "Mass destruction" and even the supposed 500 chem weapons they found were found in ones and twos and predated the first gulf war.

Not like the United States does not have like 1000% more weapons that are new and would work.

Obama is the right man for the job do your homework before you vote for war.

  18. I just read "The Pornography of Power" by Robert Scheer. There was a rather publicized plan in existence called the Project for a New America that called for the invasion of Iraq if we got the chance, and 9/11 gave us that chance. It's disgusting, really, because it caused a surge in worldwide terrorism, and it didn't catch the people responsible for 9/11 - it empowered them. I hope Obama can do something to fix this. I guess hope is the operative word there.

  19. Unless the author mistakenly wrote marine instead of extremest, dressed-up, protesting liberal, the "marine" would not be saluting.

  20. wow i would hate to be the president of the US. everyday theres always someone out there trying to rip you a new asshole

  21. "A terrorist builds fear and controls through fear."

Thats funny cause I am pretty sure Obama won because his eloquent ability to build fear and control those who voted for him.

Obama never said anything of merit, only that we needed "change" and that "McCain = Bush". That and "rich people need to pay more taxes, and those who don't pay should get some of that dough"

  22. Careful with that joke, its an antique

I am a United States Marine, and proud of it. He'd have a salute from me as well.
